Welcome To
Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue

We are the original and only Southern California Golden Retriever Rescue. Our dogs are all in foster homes, never kenneled, temperament tested, socialized and vetted prior to adoption. Our goal is to find the perfect home for each individual dog and each one has their own personal representative.

Our mission is to find loving, lifetime homes for all Southern California Golden Retrievers in need, regardless of conditions or circumstances. We will always strive to heal the sick and injured, rehabilitate the neglected and abused, and nurture the aged and unwanted until we find the perfect family who will shower them with unconditional love.

Our vision is to build a refuge - a sanctuary - to serve as a halfway house where each of our beloved Goldens can rest and recuperate, prior to being placed with a foster or permanent family and moving on in their new lives.

Meet Moose
Moose

Moose

Meet Moose, a beautiful little three month old baby that is missing part of his front leg. He's learning to walk and we're working on a prosthetic leg to help. He wants to play but tires easily and has not mastered running yet. Little Moose was dumped at the shelter with his parents and brother. We will do everything possible to help Moose. You can see him live on Good Day LA on Tuesday, August 24 at 8:15AM. Please consider donating to help with orthopedic and physical therapy so Moose can have a golden life.

To donate with a credit card through JustGive, please click on the Donate button below. You can also make your donation recurring through JustGive.

Don't forget to order your Spay/Neuter license plates. The best thing that has happened in a long time for animals here in California. Our state will actually have a spay and neuter fund. Here is the url with all the info: CASpayPlay.com.

Phoenix has a furever home
Phoenix

Phoenix was named for the mythological sacred and colorful bird that ignites into ash and is reborn to live again. Our Phoenix arrived with black reptile skin swollen with infection. She could barely open her eyes or her mouth. After almost four months in rescue, constant vet care, a dozen medications, x-rays and scans and surgery, she has grown a golden coat and flown to her new home.

Phoenix now lives in Ventura with her best friend, a beautiful young lady named Sarah. Thank you to all of you for following her story and cheering her on. Phoenix has an amazing spirit to have survived tremendous neglect and become the happy loving girl she is.

Thank you to East Valley Shelter and Veronica for giving Phoenix and SCGRRescue a chance, the board, volunteers and her foster home for their support in this amazing story of survival. And to the Red Brick Gallery that introduced Phoenix to her new family. Also, thank you to each and every one of you that donated from your heart and shed countless tears for her.

The list includes: Tim Vrshek for his donation challenge that kick started the medical funding and to Kim Odom, Valerie Gorsuch, Paula Hultman, Beverly Berthoty, Nicole Dubuc, Kathy Brown, Kristina Sanborn, Melanie Walker, Kristin Mansky, Linda Manning, Cathryn Lauer, Janice Simmons, Stevi & Dave Martin, Kelly & Deborah Kilmartin, David South, Lynette Findlay, Holly Schlange, Nancy Meyers, Matt Raymond, Mark & Judy Gilder, Kristi & Nathan Long, Mary Fickerson, Roana Thornock, Deb Denton, Susan Johnson, Barbara Gale, Kathy Brill, Lois Neely, Jenni Morita, Jennifer Street, Gregory Victor and Mary Susan Steele.
